Kashuu Kiyomitsu is one of the two protagonists of Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru.

Kashuu was forged by a swordsmith with his name, in the year 1684. Sometime after, he came under the posession of Okita Souji.

Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru[]

Kashuu has been at the saniwa's citadel since the very beginning, having been the first sword acquired. As such he seems to know more about the saniwa than most other swords.

One year in January, Yamatonokami Yasusada, another former sword of Okita Souji's, arrives at the citadel. Kashuu often helps him get accustomed to his new home and the two become friends.

Mutsuki (睦月)[]

One morning that same January, some of the Awataguchi brothers and Imanotsurugi were having a snowball fight, and Namazuo pelts him with one, angering him and causing him to spend his time chasing them all down for revenge.

Later in the day, when word is received that the History Retrograde Army has appeared at the Ikeda Inn in the year 1864, Kashuu chosen as part of the combat team. Attempting to be brave and emulate Okita, Yamatonokami ends up injured during the sortie and Kashuu comes to his defense, returning them both home safely.

After being repaired, Kashuu gives Yamatonokami a hairpin to fix his bangs, which were cut raggedly by an enemy sword. Kashuu tells him that he wasn't the only person who looked up to Okita, and playfully tells him not to get cocky.

Kisaragi (如月)[]

Kashuu is assigned by the saniwa to tour newcomers Tsurumaru Kuninaga and Doudanuki Masakuni to the citadel, and invites Yamatonokami along.

Yayoi (弥生)[]

  • Kashuu is the first sword given human form by the saniwa. This is a reference to the fact that in the Touken Ranbu game he is one of the default swords that can be chosen.
  • Kashuu and Yamatonokami are often collectively called Okitagumi (roughly "Okita team/group") due to their primary connection being former swords of Okita Souji. They are the only two Touken Ranbu swords that are Okitagumi.
